Banning Handheld Devices - an exercise in critucal thinking

It can be too easy for us to be swayed by an article – especially an article on a hot topic like Banning Handheld Devices

Before we allow an article to be the spokesperson for our views, we should do a little homework and check contrasting points-of-view.

Here is one example:

Read this post first. Then assess your thoughts on the information it contains.
Read this post second. Then asses your thoughts on the information it contains.

These free reading comprehension cards help students think critically and better understand stories and texts they read. Using the cards, students will practice the following reading strategies:

5) Comment
6) Synthesize
